Ensuring families have the tools and resources to lead healthy and productive lives.
NNCC’s programs serve individuals, families and communities. The Center for Community and Family Health ensures these programs are built on a strong foundation of evidence and knowledge of best practices. The goals for the Center are:
Ensure families understand the impact of their home environment on their health and how to live healthy in their homes.
Reduce exposure to specific home health hazards (e.g. lead, mold, mildew, cockroach antigen, dust, pet dander and others).
Influence policies that impact people’s home environmental health.
Provide families and individuals with opportunities to choose healthy lifestyles.
Facilitate positive behavior change through a range of supportive approaches.
Provide individuals and families with opportunities to improve their health by taking early action.
Intervene early to improve opportunities for families and prevent greater challenges from occurring.
Ensure individuals and communities receive full and appropriate health care.
